Apps that turn one outfit photo into separate clothing items
You don’t have to photograph every piece on its own. These eight apps take one photo of an outfit being worn and add each piece to your digital closet as its own item. Here is how each one does it, what it costs and where it runs, from each app’s own listing.

Disclosure: we make Wearbird, one of the apps below; it’s listed last and not ranked. Every fact about the other apps comes from that app’s own US App Store listing or its own website, checked on October 24, 2026 (Acloset, Alta and Whering on October 23). Prices are in US dollars on the US App Store. Something out of date? Email support@wearbird.app and we’ll fix it.
The short answer: several apps do it, and they differ most in price and in what they hand back. By their own pages:
- Free, with nothing to buy: Alta adds each piece of an outfit selfie to your closet.
- Free up to 100 items, with ads: Acloset saves up to four items from one photo.
- Paid by the photo, in credits: Aurobe (1 credit a photo, 5 to start) and FindMeOutfit (2 credits a photo, 3 to start).
- Inside a bigger closet app: Fitted’s Fit Pic Magic, on iPhone.
- From someone else’s photo or a screenshot: Sleqk and Flamingo say they can.

The apps, one by one
Acloset
Acloset’s Smart Detector saves each item in one selfie or mirror photo as a separate closet item, up to four per photo; accessories and jewellery aren’t split out. It also imports purchases from online stores or Gmail receipts, and has an AI stylist chat and try-on on an AI avatar. Free up to 100 items with all features and ads; Basic $3.99/mo, Premium $9.99/mo, Expert $24.99/mo. App Store · acloset.app · Wearbird vs Acloset
Alta
Upload an outfit selfie in clear light, and Alta identifies the pieces you’re wearing, like shoes, bottoms, a hat or a belt, and adds each one to your closet separately. It’s a free AI stylist with no in-app purchases, on iPhone, iPad, Android and the web. App Store · altadaily.com · Wearbird vs Alta
Aurobe
Aurobe is built around this job: pick an everyday outfit photo, and it finds the clothes, shoes and accessories you’re wearing, turns each into a clean item image, and fills in category, colour, material and fit. It also scores outfits and suggests a daily look for your weather. Analysing a photo uses 1 credit; new accounts get 5. Credit packs from $1.99, or a subscription from $6.99 a month. App Store · aurobe.app
Fitted
Fitted’s Fit Pic Magic takes a photo of you in an outfit and extracts each piece into its own flat-lay image. Its site says this works on iPhone. Fitted also has an AI stylist chat, weather-aware outfits, a trip planner, a digital twin for try-on and public closets to follow. Free, with plans from $2.49 a week, $9.99 a month or $38.99 a year, and AI credits from $1.99. Whether Fit Pic Magic uses credits isn’t stated. App Store · fittedcloset.com
FindMeOutfit
FindMeOutfit starts from an outfit photo: it separates the visible clothing into individual wardrobe pieces, then lets you try them on your own photo, shop for similar products and track prices. Photo extraction uses 2 Style Credits; new users get 3. Credit packs from $3.49 for 10; FMO Monthly $14.99. iPhone, iOS 26 or later. App Store · FindMeOutfit site
Flamingo
Flamingo cuts each garment out of a photo of someone’s outfit or a screenshot of a shop page, and adds it to your closet as its own piece. Its site leads with a free AI twin made from a selfie and a head-to-toe photo, which wears clothes from your closet and from shops. Free to download, with in-app purchases from $4.99. App Store · tryflamingo.app
Sleqk
Upload a photo of an outfit being worn, yours or anyone’s, and Sleqk finds each garment, removes the person, the background and the other pieces, and files each one as a clean, isolated item. It also does photoreal try-on on your own photo and plans looks for events. Free to start with 10 AI credits a month; a credit covers adding an item or a try-on. Plus $8.99/mo. App Store · sleqk.com
Close, but not the same job
- Whatrobe: lay out your clothes and take one photo, and its AI identifies each item. Its own pages describe laid-out clothes; a photo of an outfit being worn isn’t mentioned. Free, Plus $5.99/mo. App Store
- Whering: Gallery scanning digitises items from the photos in your gallery, at 1 credit per item. App Store · Wearbird vs Whering
Our app: Wearbird (not ranked)
We make Wearbird, so we don’t rank it. Here is what it does, on the same terms as the others:
- How it splits the photo: Lift with AI finds each piece in one outfit photo, names it, and makes a product shot of each on a plain background, in about 20 seconds. Hats, tops, bottoms, dresses, coats, bags and shoes each become their own item; small extras like a belt show up under “Also in the photo”.
- Cost: 1 AI credit per photo, however many pieces it finds. New users get 3 free credits, and a lift that fails gives its credit back. A single piece can also be cut out on your phone for free.
- Price and platforms: free to download, with no ads, on iPhone and iPad (iOS 17.6 or later).
- Then: the pieces go straight into outfit ideas for the weather and your week.
See a real, unretouched result on Turn one outfit photo into separate clothing items.
What to look for
- How many pieces. Acloset stops at four items per photo. The others don’t state a limit.
- Accessories. Acloset doesn’t split out accessories and jewellery. Alta names shoes, hats and belts, Aurobe shoes and accessories, and Wearbird hats, bags and shoes.
- What comes back. Some apps cut each piece out of your photo; others make a new, clean product-style image of it. Fitted describes flat-lay images, Aurobe and Sleqk clean item images, and Wearbird product shots on a plain background.
- Per photo or per item. Aurobe and Wearbird charge 1 credit per photo and FindMeOutfit 2. Sleqk and Whering count credits per item.
- Whose photo. Sleqk and Flamingo say they work from someone else’s photo or a screenshot.
How we compared
We read each app’s own US App Store listing and its own website on October 24, 2026, and nothing else: no reviews, rankings or other people’s lists. Acloset, Alta and Whering come from our October 23 check. Where an app’s own pages disagreed, for example on platforms or on what’s free, we left the figure out. “Not stated” means we couldn’t find it in the app’s own materials, not that it can’t. We’ll check again each month.
Questions
Which app can turn one photo of my outfit into separate clothing items?
Several can. By their own pages, Acloset (up to four items per photo), Alta, Aurobe, Fitted (Fit Pic Magic, on iPhone), FindMeOutfit, Flamingo and Sleqk all take one outfit photo and add each piece to your closet separately. Wearbird, our app, does it with Lift with AI, which makes a named product shot of each piece for 1 credit per photo.
Is there a free app that splits an outfit photo into separate pieces?
Alta is free with no in-app purchases. Acloset is free up to 100 items, with ads. Aurobe gives new accounts 5 credits, Sleqk 10 AI credits a month, and FindMeOutfit and Wearbird 3 credits each, so you can try them for free.
Can these apps pick out shoes, bags and accessories?
Alta names shoes, hats and belts, and Aurobe says it finds clothes, shoes and accessories. Wearbird makes hats, bags and shoes into their own items. Acloset says accessories and jewellery aren’t split out.
Can I use a photo of someone else, or a screenshot from a shop?
Sleqk says it works with a photo of an outfit being worn by you or anyone. Flamingo cuts garments out of a photo of someone’s outfit or a screenshot of a shop page. Wearbird lifts the pieces from any photo with one person in it. The others don’t say.
Which of these apps work on iPad?
Acloset, Alta, Flamingo and Wearbird list iPad support on the US App Store.
Which apps charge per photo rather than per piece?
Aurobe and Wearbird use 1 credit per photo, and FindMeOutfit 2, however many pieces are in it. Sleqk uses a credit per item added, and Whering’s Gallery scanning 1 credit per item.
